Texas Vietnam Veteran's Memorial at Fair Park
The Texas Vietnam Veteran's Memorial was erected in memory of the Texans who served and sacrificed in the Vietnam War. Five tablets of Texas granite bear the names of Texans killed or missing in action, including nine Congressional Medal of Honor recipients. The memorial was built solely on the grass-roots level through small donations, without federal or state aid. Wreaths, bracelets, flowers, flags and other sentimental items are sometimes left next to the tablet bearing the name of a loved one. The items are cataloged and then sent to the City of Dallas Archives for permanent storage.
